Northern Sonoma County CERT’s leadership team has extensive experience in emergency preparedness and response. We can provide basic and advanced CERT training in both English and Spanish.

Geoff started the Asti-Cloverdale COPE (Communities Organized to Prepare for Emergencies) in 2016, after meeting Fire Chief Marshall Turbeville and attending a few meetings of COPE Northern Sonoma County. Since there were no CERT organizations active in Sonoma County at that time, and because his entire neighborhood was in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, Geoff took basic CERT training then additional training to be a FEMA Certified CERT Trainer and Program Manager. He founded Northern Sonoma County CERT in 2019 to help his community, by teaching people how to effectively assist during disasters. Geoff is also a member of the Board of Directors for Fire Safe Sonoma and COPE Northern Sonoma County.

In addition to his emergency preparedness/response work, Geoff is a fundraiser, lawyer, entrepreneur, manager, commercial flight instructor, SCUBA diver, and olive farmer. He has served as COO or CEO or on boards of directors and in numerous other roles, with many nonprofit and for-profit enterprises. He has also started business and nonprofit enterprises and argued cases in the Supreme Court.
